3 x 3 swap

Hello, my name is Leanne and I'm addicted to stampin up!  Actually, a more accurate description would be I'm addicted to signing up for stampin' up swaps!!! :)  Here's ANOTHER Marina Mist card I made.  I actualyl made it in Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Rich Razzleberry.  Why?  You ask?  That's because that's the colours the DSP Polka Dot Parade comes in :)  And that's the DSP that I used for this card.  Isn't it adorable?
So I had to make 81 one of the ones...  The required 162 pieces of 2" x 2" DSP folded and glued with Tombo onto the 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" white card stock.  That also required 486 little rhinestones...  Yeah, it was a cute, blingy card...  :D
The cards I got back from the swap are FREAKIN' ADORABLE!  Great job 3x3 ladies!!!  I love them all!

Back from convention & my WOW! Swap

I had the opportunity to attend Stampin' Up's annual convention down in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This is the fourth convention I've attended and this one was absolutely crazy and exhausting.  There is usually (thanks for finding my typo Kate!) about 3500 people in attendance.  This year there was close to 6000.  Yep I'm serious.  Soooo many people.  I went down with part of the "upside downline" and we had an awesome time!   It was a whirlwind of swaps, shopping, laughing and lots of standing in line.   The lines were looooooong this year and holy some of the demonstrators were GRUMPY and the thought that they might have to wait in line.   Yeah it was annoying but I met some of the neatest people.  Shout out to new friends Connie and Andrea (candy crush forever!!) and Donna and Kym from California!!!!

Now for my WOW! swap!!!  Here it is! :)

So here's how I made it:

I took a piece of 8.5" x 11" marina mist cardstock and cut it so it was 8.5" x 8.5".  I scored at 2 1/4", 4 1/4", and 6 1/4".

I then cut a diagonal line from 2 1/4" from the first panel to 6 1/4" on the last panel.  I hope that makes sense.  I actually did measure the first one and then eyeballed the other 75 as I had to make 75 of them.  You will end up with two pieces and one side will be 2 1/4" and the other side will be 6 1/4" .

I folded along the 4 1/4" score line and cut a slit halfway up the 2 1/4" and 6 1/4" score line on one piece and halfway down on the two score lines on the other piece.  The two pieces of cardstock just slide together then.  I then ran the folded card through the big shot with the polka dot embossing folder to add some interest and stuck the candles on.  The candles were made with silver glimmer paper and the wing from the bird punch.

I added some rhinestones and a ribbon to finish it off and was really happy with the end result. :)

I hope this makes sense!  Feel free to email me if you have any further questions.

Thanks for stopping by and keep on stampin'!  :)  When in doubt, add some adhesive.  Adhesive solves all our problems!

New blog header

TA-DA!!!  I created the new blog header with MDS 2!  I unfortunately write this from my mom's hospital room.  She had the flu this week and there's other stuff going on, so my sister and I have been sharing watch over her.  My sister was thinking out loud about having her lap top so I brought mine in today and will leave it here for her tomorrow while i'm at work.  Sitting in a chair watching someone sleep can only entertain me for so long.  And I can only play so many games of Candy Crush before I go stir crazy!!!!  With time to waste, I started playing with MDS y Digistal Studio).  Thanks to Bencer for her assistance in pointing me in the direction of creating a Blog Header.  I used some retired stuff because I can! > : P

The background paper is Joyful Times and I used some riding hood red cardstock (retiring :( ) with decreased opacity to give it a fun effect.  Embellishments include some Pool Party (love that color and glad it's staying) ribbon and a button, a filligree, and some pearls

If you haven't played around with MDS you should sit down and play.  It was difficult to start, but once I got going, I was really having fun.  Although, Mom looked up at me at one point and asked what I was doing.  Apparently, I was gazing very intensely at my computer!  LOL  I will probably create some more now that I'm more comfortable with the program and have discovered how easy it is to use.

If you'd like some more information on MDS, or you wanna try it out, let me know and we can explore together.
