Stamp A Stack Cards and a Wreath

I hosted my first stamp a stack this weekend. I had three people!!!! Wahoo! Hey, I'm okay with that. Gotta start somewhere, right? And we had sooooooooooo much fun! I can do this, and so can you! Here are the cards we made.... Never mind Cher's Tuesday Club, I will be guest demonstrating the poinsettia card on Tuesday, Nov 30th. :) If you're interested in making these cards, I may consider holding another stamp a stack in December.

Let me know!

This next picture is a Christmas present for my aunt. I always do something special for two of my aunts for Christmas using Stampin' Up! stuff. Last year I made them glass ornaments. This year, as noted in a previous post, I saw a wreath similar to this at convention and said, I am sooooo making them one this Christmas. Today I tackled it. Believe it or not, it took about 35 mins to complete! Yay!!!!

I am super happy with how it turned out and I think my aunts will love it. It's lightweight enough and small enough that I can mail it to my aunt in Regina without worrying about it getting destroyed!!! Yay!
Gotta run! I have an aquafit class which starts in 20 minutes!
See ya soon

Happy Remembrance Day

Hey there! How are things going? Did you wear a poppy today? My dad actually fought in WWII so this day is special to us. I'm glad he made it home, or I wouldn't have been :).

Working on some cards for a Christmas Stamp A Stack next Saturday, November 20th. The cards are looking super cute so far (I rock!). If you interested in joining us, it starts at 1:00PM and consists of 2 cards each of 5 designs and costs $25. If you mention that you saw it here, I'll give you $5 off. :) The only things you need to bring are scissors and some adhesive.

I look forward to hearing for you.

Punch Swap Card!

I know.... Already blogging! Yay! This is a card I am making for a punch swap I'm involved in. :)

It started off a ham sub, but it has turned into a BLT with cheese and potato chips.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! to Sue, Lu and Sonia who gave me their opinions on just what the card needed! I totally agree -- the texturing and ribbon totally helped! THANKS fellow stampers!!! :)

Here's the card. Hope you like it.

Here's what I used:

Card Stock: daffodil delight, crumb cake, real red, cajun craze, old olive, and so saffron

Punches: scallop circle, 1 1/4" square, 1 3/8" circle, 3/4" circle, top note die, square lattice embossing folder, vintage wallpaper embossing folder, crop a dile

Accesories: whisper white grosgrain ribbon, log cabin smooch spray (that got everywhere, but that's another story!)

There is a stamp set in the catalogue with a stamp called "bon appetit" and if I had it, I totally would have stamped that in whisper white craft ink. oh well.

If you wish to order these supplies, or anything else, please email me .

Have a fabulous day!

Goodbye CCC, Hello WRHA!

The challenges of CCC are over. I am missing all my friends HORRIBLY!!!! Hi, you guys!!!!

I've had the last two weeks off and most people would have looked at that with happiness and enjoyment.... BUT, if you know me well, you understand this was a dilemma! I know you're wondering, What the heck did you do with yourself, Lea? Because you sure haven't been blogging. I know, I know.... It's not that I didn't want to. Football is done, ASD is done, CCC is done... I don't have a lot of excuses. Somehow, blogging took the trunk, not just the back seat! :)

As you can see, I got my hair done, I took Bailey to the dog park. Bailey was jealous that my dad took a picture of me, so I had to take a picture of him! He's such a good dog! :)

I did do soooooooooooome stamping. And I did manage a trip down the States for a couple of days.... BTW, why do the border crossing people care WHAT I do for a living? Seriously! I'm coming back into Canada -- you'd think.... WHATEVER! We'll leave it at that :).

Did lots of shopping over the last two weeks! Wow am I good at spending money! :D Back to my shopping diet! Suzanne is going to have her work cut out for her :) But I'm gonna look great! :)

Anyways, I did do some stamping because I'm signing up to be in a craft sale next weekend. Yay! :) I already got some stuff done. Do you wanna see? Of course you do. All right, here ya go!

These are Post-It note holders! They come with a little gel pen and will make a great stocking stuffer or teacher's gift. Got the idea from Dawn Griffith, cool huh?
The next one is a tea light holder than Joan showed us at her downline meeting. It's made with Aluminum flashing... Soooooo cute! Thanks Joan! :)
The next one is another Dawn Project! Yay Dawn! They're not completely finished. They need labels! It's snowman and reindeer poop. The little saying on the label will say:
You haven't been very nice this year
So listen here's the scoop
Instead of getting coal this year
You're getting Snowman Poop!
LOL! I absolutely love it! I gave it to my coworkers a couple of years ago and they LOVED it!Saw this one on KVD's website! She's sooooooo cool! And it hold the hand gel from Bath and Bodyworks, which we FINALLY got in Winnipeg this spring. The good news is that it's over at St. Vital so I have to drive a fair distance to frequent it.... That' s a good thing. See comment above re: shopping diet! The last idea came from my upline, Cher! Poor Cher! I drive her crazy sometimes! :) I'm sorry Cher! :( I don't mean to be difficult! These a tile wipe off boards! Such a fab idea, Cher!

That's it for now! Pretty good if I do say so myself!
Talk to ya soon! I have to go post some stamp sets for sale on Kijiji!
Love Lea! :)

Wow, where have I been?

It's been a crazy month. Been to Brandon, Toronto (and Etobicoke and Meaford) for an interview and back again. It was a whirlwind week last week! This is the last week of racing (yay!) We're glad to be through. It gets exhausting after awhile.

I did join Cher's stamp club as I have not been very successful in starting my own :( Hopefully a craft fair will be in my future so that I can get on that.... If you're in the Winnipeg area and are interested in joining my stamp club, please call me at 223-5043 or email me at .

My job at CCC is coming to an end, so I have been applying and interviewing for a number of positions (that's why I was in Meaford), but I haven't heard anything yet. I'm not worried. God has something amazing, and as long as I do my part, He will do His.

I've done some stamping this week. I was inspired by a blog so I thought I'd try my own brayering. The first ones did NOT go so well, but last night I went on You Tube and found great tutorials, so I tried a sunsetty fall one and a wintery one. They're not amazing, but they're a LOT better than the first ones I tried :D.

Take a look and ooooooooooo.... :D
Pretty cool, huh?
Well, my pooch is already sprawled out across my bed, and OMG, it's already 11:53PM! Tomorrow is going to be another loooooong day. I'm volunteering my time at the Hospice and Palliative Care Conference to do massages and apparently, Shelley says I'm booked SOLID! She went to book in to see me and there is no room! Eeeeeeeee. My reputation proceeds me :D.
Until the next time, happy stamping. Don't be afraid to try something new. I did! If you want to place an order with Stampin' Up, you can do so right from here. Click here.
That's all for now!

Another loooooooooong day

It was another long day at CCC. Stressful, but I can't really get into it. All I wanted was a hug when I came home and my mom was on the phone with my sister and too busy for a hug.
I moped around for awhile and then went into my stamping room. Not a very good day there either, but i finally got a couple of cards made. Here they are... I found this first one is Stampin' Success, the magazine that demonstrators get every month. These ice creams were a NIGHTMARE to make... even with the stamp-a-majig. I was going to use this card for my open house... I THINK not!!!The second card and I were having difficulties making it into a card. I finally found a way to make it look okay. My mojo is fleeting... Wish I had more time to perfect things.... Apparently I should also repaint my stamping table. It looks awful! Yeesh!
If you're ever interested in joining the Stampin' Up family, please feel to email me or leave a comment so we can talk more about it. We'll be in this together, I assure you! Another friend would make the swim a little easier as we conquer waves together!
These last two pics are from a golf tournament that I was at on Monday for the horse race track. No, i do not golf. Not even a little. This is Joey, the outrider (don't ask me what that means) and my coworker Lani (the counsellor/chaplain). I heart them both a lot. There is never a dull moment when these two crazy cats are around. Especially when Joey's got his putter! LOL! As you see, my dear friend Lani is expecting... And Joey decided we needed to compare their bellies. This last pic is my boss, who I lovingly call "Giant Man". Brian heads Winner's foundation (the non profit company that I work for at the track) and I wish all bosses were like him. He's my work dad and he always takes care of us!

That's all for today. A little step into some of my multiple lives...

Have a fabulous evening and a wonderful weekend.

See you soon

Love Lea!

Printing headaches...

It was another good day, bad day! I'll spare you most of the details, but I'm glad this week is over. I'm ready for a new one!

I fought with my computer for the better part of three hours designing a business card and the printer decided it didn't want to print it on the precut business card card stock. What a nightmare. I was determined to fix it, but alas, after the waste of many pieces of paper, I gave up and took Jamie and Alanna's advice and went to I highly recommend it. My cards will be here in two weeks!

You've Got Mail is on, so I think that's all you're going to get from me tonight. I put in my preorder sans MDS and a few other things I wanted, but I'm over it. There's enough stuff coming this time :). Anyways, it's been a slice. No time for designing tonight, I was fighting with the printer, took Bailey for a walk and then watched a movie. I was going to end with a pic of my pooch but realized that i haven't transferred my pictures over from the old laptop yet.....

Is this day over yet!??!

Pray for me!

Convention Pictures!

I promised some pictures from convention and here they are! Number one is one of the many many display boards. There are some seriously creative people out there! I can only aspire to be as creative as them! As you may be able to see, the boards were organized for the most part due to color. This one is Rich Razzleberry. Such a beautiful color!

I always make something for my two aunts for Christmas. When I saw this one, I knew that my aunts would love it! I took a picture of it so I could get an idea on how to put one together. Look forward to seeing my finished products later on in December! This is my friends all lined up for a wow! swap! You should have heard some of the comments as the girls checked out their cards! Some were really awesome, some were lacking the wow factor.

And last, but not least, the all famous Shelli Gardner and her daughter Sara! Sara is hillarious! I completely loved her sassiness! I'm glad to know that they are sooooooooo very down to earth. Do you see their skirts? They're made with the new designer series fabric in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalogue, which will be available September 1st. Sara took her skirt off at the end of the presentation (she was wearing shorts underneath) and the skirt became a tree skirt for the christmas tree they decorated. Soooooo cute!

So that's a few glimpses of Convention! It was awesome, and it's been difficult coming back to a place where not everybody shares my love of stamping.... sigh

Hope you enjoyed this peak into the world of Convention.

My general swaps

So here starts the pictures. Here are copies of my general swaps. I actually had to make another copy of them yesterday as I swapped out all the ones I made last week.
The wreath, which was loved by everybody was made using a piece of old olive cardstock, which measured 1 1/2" by 11", which was then punched with the eyelet border punch. I then ran the strip through a paper crimper 4 times to break down the fibers and add some crinkles. My awesome mom accordion folded it up and down and then I added some snail and glued the two ends together, so I had a ring. I just flattened it, by pressing down on it, into a ring, and added some sticky strip to various places to secure it to the very vanilla card stock. I used a mini glue dot to add the bow made with very vanilla satin ribbon (LOVE IT!) and the berries were made with the larger whole punch on the crop a dile and secured them with a two way glue pen. I used cherry cobler card stock (I LOVE this new color) and the Designer Series Paper (DSP from here on in) is Jolly Holiday. In my swapped version, I added "Merry Christmas" with white craft ink, but I gave that stamp back to my friend, Tanya because it was her's.

Card number two is a step card. I got this idea from Dawn Griffith's blog. She has awesome videos on her blog and you can go to here to see it. Again my awesome mom spent three hours cutting out 100 little white westies for my swaps. Thanks Mom! I used certainly celery, tangerine tango and the DSP is Sunny Garden. If you want more information on how to make this card, see Dawn's blog or feel free to email me.
Anyways, I have to run. I have to be at the track clinic in 35 minutes.... Eeek!

Until the next time... keep stamping. And remember, it's ART, it doesn't have to be perfect!

Back From Convention!

And WOW! What a week it was! I got to meet my heroes (Dawn Griffith, Patty Bennett, and Angie Kennedy Juda)! These three creative ladies are one of the main reasons I decided to bite the bullet and become a Stampin' Up demonstrator! Angie Kennedy Juda blessed me sooooo much, and gave me a major pickup when I needed one; when I was feeling ridiculously overwhelmed! If you are reading this Angie, thank you sooooooooo much from the bottom of my heart. I pray that God continues to enrich your life as you enriched mine, taking time away from blogging to chat with me.

Anyways, Cher and Fran (Granny Franny!) said they couldn't describe Convention and that I would have to see it for myself. This was completely true.

A picture is worth 1000 words, so i'll post a few later on today.

I have become a stamping demonstrator!!! I hae crossed over to the dark side! Stay tuned for all the cards I made over the last couple of weeks for Mojo Monday blog challenge! Good times. :)

This week's art!

A card for the neighbour, who is pregnant, due anytime and we know it's a girl! So I made her a card with the stamp set Fox and Friends! :) Uber Cute! One of my best friends, Kristin, is getting married in a few weeks. She's an Environmentalist with a Masters in Natural Resource Something :) and is having a tall grass prairie themed wedding. In keeping with the theme, my card reflects the tall grass :) She will LOVE it!

Homework! Took forever to come up with a design, but it's done... all eight of em!

The stamping mojo continues :)

Sunday Fun

The stampin' mojo comes and goes. This morning it came. :) Mom and Dad are away in Kelowna(see wedding card in previous post), so Bailey and I are maintaining the silent house together. It's awesome. But that awesome little white dog would rather we be out walking, car riding, or playing in the backyard, than stamping. However, he allowed me an hour to be creative and pay my taxes :P before we head out on a car ride to pick up the supplies we ordered this month and a trip to the bank and possibly the park. You should see the irritatedly bored look he keeps giving me!

Anyways, here's what I got to do. A birthday card for my aunt. Cool, huh? Cher taught us how to make the card a couple of weeks ago at stamp club and this one is similar to the one she showed us.... what can i say, I love ya Cher!!! :D the funny this is that I argued and argued with my self and this stamp set. I finally bought it at Christmas, merry Christmas to me and use it lots!
Card #2 is for my mom for mother's day. I decided this week that I needed some accessories, so I headed to my local Wal-Mart and found these cute little flowers :) I am VERY sad that perfect and pale plum are leaving us (stamp ink colors that are being retired) and am unsure of how I will cope.... :( Anyways, happy Mother's day Mom... I'm on top of things -- that's what happens when you plan the events in a PCH. You HAVE to be a few months ahead.

I hope you enjoyed my art. Until the next time....

New, cool stamping supplies = new, cool cards!

Oh yes, I'm back with a vengence and with lots of stamping that needs to be done for different occasions coming up. This first one is for Janelle. It's her last day at CCC on Wednesday and she's moving to Brandon this weekend, because she got a job at the hospital. Way to go Janelley! It says inside: If nothing ever changed, there wouldn't be butterflies. Janelley is going to have lots of changes over the next little while and I wish her all the best!
Next card is for Dylan's Birthday. Not very difficult but cool for a 16! year old. Eeek! That makes me old!
One of the girls at work made me some Empanadas. Haven't eaten them yet, but a thank you card is very important!

This is an emergency card when someone says to me - "It's my birthday today". Oh look, I have a card for you. If not, I'll give to my other nephew Tyler for his bday! The monkeys remind me of him somehow.......

Way cool card! I saw this on Split Coast stampers while looking for ideas to use the stamp set "Tart and Tangy". I had yet to use it. My sister used to absolutely LOVE Pac Man and Miss Pac Man! She will LOVE her birthday card, which is in a couple of weeks!

And last but not least is a card for Laurie and Mike, friends of the family who are getting married at the end of the month. I can't go due to work and Bailey, so I thought I'd make a cute card to send with my parents! I rolled my eyes the first time I saw "Tiny Tags" but it is a way cute set and adds just a perfect touch to this card!

All right, that's all I got for now, but check back soon, because I'm thinking there will be more! :)

Sorry for being MIA, just been busy with work. The ESM left a couple of weeks ago and my stack on my desk has increased exponentially.

And then i lost my stamping mojo. I could sit for hours in my stamping room and not get anywhere. It's back though :) So stay tuned for some new cards.
